The Samsung Diva S7070 looks nice, feels great and comes with just the right balance of features to make it a worthwhile purchase

. However, this 2G phone is a little behind the times and for it to be released regions with 3G networks -its a shame that it has no 3G capabilities. The market for this device is quite definitive: younger women who only need a simple 2G phone that looks fashionable. The name alone is a dead giveaway; unless of course Samsung meant this device strictly for adults who still act like insufferable spoiled brats. Anyway, the outer body of the device combines a nice pearl white color with a uniquely textured back casing (a raised, diamond shaped pattern that has a very fancy feel). The Spec Sheet This mobile phone comes at a nice 101 x 54.8 x 13.4 mm; small, compact and easy to keep in a purse or slip into a small tote bag. As said above, the back portion of the device is textured and gives a very comfortable grip. The 13.4mm thickness could have been a little bit slimmer, but overall, the size of the phone is just about right. The nice thing about this phone is the weight; at 94 pounds, it is one of the lightest touch screen devices available. The screen is a sweet, little 2.8 inch resistive touch screen display. The big catch with the resistive touch screen is that the user would still have whip out a stylus in order to precisely navigate the controls. Thankfully, the phone uses Samsungs proprietary TouchWiz user interface which makes using the device really easy and the ladies would look rather sophisticated tapping the screens with their sleek stylus. More Features The TouchWiz interface has been adjusted a little for this device, but for any Samsung phone user, the change is easy to get used to. For the most part, navigating between the different screens and menu is smooth and easy. The phone features a music player and FM radio function with a matching new interface for both. The music layer itself is now a widget type app you can easily drag around. The 3 mega pixel camera is a little too basic for a vanity phone, it certainly could have used the help of LED flash, but at least it has auto focus. No 3G for the Diva Great form, decent features and the easy to use Samsung TouchWiz user interface all combine in this device as a nice little mobile phone for basic day to day use and the occasional network access. Had the phone been given 3G HSDPA network connectivity, then users would be able to maximize the use of the integrated Facebook and MySpace functions. As such, going online without access to 3G networks or wireless LAN access is not enjoyable. Still, there is hope for the Samsung Diva S7070 yet. Samsung has shown that they can recognize a good phone and will retrofit a device if they see that a phone needs it. Much like the Corby/Genio Touch; the phone has been re-released as the Lindy M5650 and it comes with the missing 3G and WiFi features.
