It seems that Samsung are not prepared to be giving up on the Galaxy S line-up as of yet after they are preparing the launch of a new high-end smartphone. This new phone is expected to be a variation of the current Samsung Galaxy S, which has led to the tag of being the 2011 edition of the Samsung Galaxy S. This new phone will be the Samsung Galaxy S Plus and it promises to be as exciting as the Samsung Galaxy S itself. This phone will be coming with chrome strips around the phone, which gives the phone externally upmarket feel it that was not present in the Samsung Galaxy S.

However, most of the specifications with regard to the display department will be remaining similar than the new phone and it will be seen from the 4 inch display that is rumoured to be present in the phone. It is a display that will be using the same Super AMOLED technology, while the resolutions of the same at 480 by 800 pixels. However, the Samsung Galaxy S Plus differs from the normal Samsung Galaxy S in the fact that it will be able to process all the information much more quickly than the previous version. This is because the 1 GHz single core processor has been updated to the 1.4 GHz single core unit in the new Samsung Galaxy S Plus.

It will be something that will be obviously resulting in the increased performance, which can be felt throughout the Android 2.3 operating system that is also going to be coming as standard. Even though it is expected that the Android 2.3 version will be available in the Samsung Galaxy S within a few weeks, getting the operating system as a stock item is definitely worthwhile as there will be no need to update manually. The Samsung Galaxy S Plus is expected to have the same five megapixel unit, but the difference it again will be yet again in the battery department. This will be having an update to the 1650 mAh battery. It is expected to provide increased battery life for the phone, which is extremely needed due to the presence of a number of high-end features that will be demanding a lot of power from the battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S Plus is going to be offered with a range of social networking connectivity options, while the multimedia player that is present in the phone is one of the best to have been seen. Of course, most of the specifications and features are something that have been released online based on the rumours only. It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S Plus will be available in the flesh in the UK from May onwards. It is currently going to be on sale in Russia for around 521, which could also suggest the same price tag for the phone in the United Kingdom. The contract prices are yet to be revealed.
