Samsung Galaxy S Review

Samsung came out with its new full touch screen phone Galaxy S in the month of June 2010

. The Samsung Galaxy S is a light weight and stylish phone weighing just 121 grams and has physical dimensions of 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm. The new Samsung Galaxy S is available only in black colour.

The display of the Galaxy S is simply superb with 4 inch screen size and a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is a super AMOLED capacitive touch screen which offers a vibrant display with 16 million colours. A special user interface called the Touch Wiz version 3.0 is implemented in the new Galaxy S which also features multi touch input and accelerometer for rotation of display according to physical orientation of the phone. Adding to its features list the Galaxy S also has a proximity sensor.

The camera is 5 mega pixels with fantastic auto focus feature. To add to this it also has Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection features as well. It has a secondary camera also which uses VGA format.

The Samsung Galaxy S has an internal memory of 16 Gb out of which 2 Gb is kept for system storage. The memory is expandable up to 32 GB by using micro SD card. The new Samsung Galaxy S is a high end phone in terms of connectivity as it supports Bluetooth v3.0, micro USB v2.0, 3G and Edge technology. Apart from this it uses class 12 GPRS and also have Wi-Fi for web browsing.


The Samsung Galaxy S has an impressive battery back up with a talk time of 7.5 hrs and 15.5 hrs in 3G and 2G networks respectively and a standby time of 590 hrs and 490 hrs for 2G and 3G networks respectively. The device is powered by ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and works on Android OS. The phone also has GPS facility to track your location and supports almost all major audio/video formats. The Galaxy S also has some preinstalled applications on its Android OS which are fun to use. If you are looking for a great touch screen phone with a crisp display and an alternative to the iPhone 4, then this phone may be your best choice. It is well worth looking at.
