I had a 42 "Samsung Plasma for two years, and although it appeared on Amazon for $ 675 I sold mine for $ 400 and stayed with him. She loved him immediately, because it is basically the same TV, but larger.
My only beef is no longer running a 42-inch made.
Also noted that part of me died a few days ago, so I had vertical stripes in different colors, up and down my screen. I'm going to call Samsung and get it, I'm sure it'll be fun. Contrary to what the TV itself is great and a steal at $ 675 to.

I can't help from researching any larger purchase,believe me it all was worth the effort. This Samsung PN50C430 720P 50inch Plazma is the best buy on the market.
Quality is tops, picture is better than any brand TV, Easy setup Delivery was great arrived on time they promised in perfect condition I have mine in a lower level rec room with no outside light. I have heard if you have a Plazma in a room with a lot of outside light there will be reflections on the shiney screen. Other than that I see no reason to not buy this Tv over any other including LCD's. We are retired seniors so I figure this may well be all the TV I will need.
I am really sold on any thing that Samsung they seem to be the leader in many electronics. I bought another Samsung TV 4 years ago It to is a 50 inch DLP that's rear projection and about 10 inches deep.It to has been perfect it's in the living room and had lot's of use never a problem. I paid $1,800.00 for that one verses only $675.00 for the Plazma. Just do it and see how really good it is. Amazon is the best place to buy your TV or many other things.

Such a Deal!
Well my Sony 43' rear projection TV was acting up, and there was no way to change a bulb--10 yrs old.
I spent months researching. I knew I wanted Samsung or Panasonic. I have 3 Samsungs and love them all.
I assumed that since my 3 had a rotating stand, that this one did. I'm bummed that it does not. You really need a friend to help connect the base and the screws were OK- especially since my bud is very handy. Had to buy a TV stand also. The TV deal was unbeatable- this set for $674 and a beautiful glass stand- total for both just under $900.
PICTURE-so amazing that it's now my first choice. This is a vacation home, so Im not worried about burn in.They say there would be none.
This is my 2nd Plasma(42") also. I must say that the plasma picture blows away the LED's. The reds are amazing!
So bottom line- I defy anone to find this set at $674.
If by some miracle , you do, grab that mother and run- because THIS TV IS A STEAL AND WORKS AWESOME! jUST WISH IT HAD A ROTATING STAND. In all, I have 5 flat screen is 2 places- 4 are Samsung, 1- Toshiba
( great pic) . Only one of them is a 1080P- and I cannot tell a difference other than when standing close to an LCD- you can see the picture motion(whatever its called--blur?)

Amazon Really Dropped The Ball
I ordered this T.V. from Amazon because with the free shipping it was a good deal (saved me a little bit from buying it locally). The T.V. showed up and the screen was cracked which has been noted in at least one other review. I understand that this is not Amazon's fault but when I called to get a replacement ordered, they informed me that it was going to be another 7 days until the new one was delivered... In my opinion, a company should take care of their customers but instead, I have to wait even longer because someone decided to be lazy in the shipping process. The T.V. is a great buy but be prepared for this to happen to you and make sure you allow at least 2 weeks before you actually expect to the T.V. I've brought the issue up with Amazon and will update my response once I hear back from them about this.

I have the 400 model which was a special discount set sold during the Thanksgiving weekend last year. I've had this set for 6 months now and I love it. I had purchased 2 lcd sets previously and the picture on this set is superior. More HDMI imputs would have been great and I really would have loved a analog audio out. However the picture on this set is great and the viewing angles are much better than my lcd's. However you do need a good HD source for the best results. I have HDMI cable box and that signal along with over the air HD produces the best picture. My mother has the same set hooked up to cable with no box and the picture is not as good. I had read all the negatives about plasma but I haven't experienced any problems. After watching this set I now think plasma is the only way to go. All and all I think this set is the best bang for the buck right now and I have been very pleased with my purchase.
