Samsung Wave 2 And Wave 2 Pro Breaks New Ground For The Bada Os

Samsungs Bada operating system may be considered as the underdog of mobile operating systems

. The OS itself was only announced last 2009 and is not as established as the Android, iOS or BlackBerry OS.

But despite being faced with more famous and successful platforms, Samsung remained undaunted by the challenge and pushed through, providing the world with an impressive operating system that actually managed to the get Wave series up and running.

Following through with the success of the original Wave, the Korean phone maker has come out with the Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro. These smart phones look a lot better than the older Wave handset. Looking inside the devices reveals low end smart phone specs that hardly come close to the original.

The choice to go from high end to low end may surprise some folks, but those who have been keeping track of Samsungs announcement would know that the Bada was never meant to be a platform for high end smart phone users. Samsung developed the OS with the notion of creating the smart phone for everyone.

Bada for Everyone

It is arguable that the Bada operating system would be a great fit for all users especially with other platforms such as the Google Android also being available. Both of the platforms are open source and both are available on low end devices, but while the Google Android focuses heavily on web based services such as mail, maps and augmented reality assisted searches, the Badas extra features focus more on organizing contacts, consolidating inboxes and making the communication aspect of the handset smoother and faster.

There is also focus on media playback and of course, web browsing. In that regard, the Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro truly manages to provide a unique user experience.

While some might say that the biggest drawback for the Bada OS is the fact that not a lot of people know about it, one can also argue that this is one of the platforms best assets. Being the new OS means being able to surprise users with how smoothly it runs and how useful the features actually are.

Good Form Factor

The touch screen smart phone form factor is a pretty common sight. So getting it right when it comes to the tones, colors and textures is pretty important. As impressive as the previous Wave was, it certainly looks pretty low end when compared to the Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro. The new version sports a more professional heavy looking build and of course, a better surface texture.

The entire front of the phones face is mostly occupied by the 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen display and it provides a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels of resolution. It provides users with a great way to view video content in wide format without that awkward scaling. On the Wave 2 Pro, the overall form factor is given further sophistication and functionality with the slide out QWERTY keyboard.

Great Specs

With a 3 mega pixel camera, support for WiFi, GPS, a built in browser, the Samsung TouchWiz UI and plenty of other features, it is hard for other low end devices to be able to match the impressive hardware offerings of the Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro.
