Samsung Wave S8500 - World's First BADA Phone

Samsung Wave is the latest addition to the growing number of smartphones available in the market these days. However, it is unique because it is the first phone to feature Samsung's BADA operating system. The phone runs on a powerful 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and uses Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. It has the dimensions 118 x 56 x 10.9 mm and weighs merely 118 grams.

The Samsung Wave has an 3.3 inches super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display which supports 16 million colors and a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. An accelerometer sensor allows you to automatically rotate the screen when you tilt the phone and a proximity sensor auto turn-offs the display when the phone is held close to the body. Innovative features like multi-touch input, smart unlock and handwriting recognition are also supported.

The phone has an internal memory of 390 MB which can be further upgraded to 32 GB using an external memory card. For data transfer needs, features like EDGE, Bluetooth, Wifi, EDGE, microUSB are provided. For your entertainment needs, a music player and video player which can play all major file formats is provided. Stereo FM is also supported. A 3.5 mm audio jack allows you to plug in your favorite headphones.

Samsung S8500 has an amazing 5 megapixel camera which allows you to take high resolution images of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Video recording is also supported. Other features include autofocus, smile and blink detection, image stabilization, touch focus, video light, etc.

Other basic features like SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM are also provided. Games and applications are also supported. Some applications like digital compass, organizer, image editor, voice memo, etc. Samsung Mobile Navigator is provided for navigation purpose. A HTML browser allows users to access the internet easily on the phone. New applications and games can be downloaded directly to the phone from Samsung's App Store.
