San Diego Estate Planning, Tomorrow Isn't Soon Enough
If you are like most people, including me, San Diego estate planning is probably not high on your list of fun things to do with a free weekend
. Enjoying the beach? Certainly! Driving up to Disneyland? Possibly! Putting together a will? Umm, I think I have other plans. Unfortunately, that laissez-faire attitude isn't exactly productive, and putting off your estate planning isn't doing anyone any real favors. You have worked hard for what you have, and you really should plot out a future for what you will leave behind.
It may seem to you, as it did to me, that San Diego estate planning is really more for the benefit of everyone else than it is for you. I mean after all, you are never really going to get to enjoy your own estate. It is those that you are leaving behind that will really reap the rewards of anything that you sow now, right? On some levels there is truth in this, but at the end of the day, estate planning is about making sure that your wealth and your property gets used and distributed and preserved the way that you want it to.
I know, you're thinking, "But I'll be dead! What do I care what happens with my money?" Honestly though, you need to think of San Diego estate planning as a way to care for your loved ones even after you are gone. Let's say you have a child. Do you want that child to go to college some day and become a successful, contributing adult? Of course you do! And the odds are that you will be around to make sure that they do. But what happens if you are not? How can you ensure that they will still have the money to go to school? That is what estate planning is all about.
San Diego estate planning is not something that you should wait until the last minute to do. You may be young and virile, and death may not be even a flicker on your radar. An untimely accident can happen at any time though, and if you have not already done your estate planning, it will be too late. The ones that will be left to deal with the mess and attempt to pick up the pieces are the very ones that you could have been providing for by consulting an estate planning attorney in the first place. Don't wait until it is too late, don't wait even another day. Get busy and start planning today.
