This is a 6,494 meters, par 72, championship course and has an 18-hole layout meandering through the mature forests and coming out onto few of the hilly holes. The immaculately maintained course is made up of tree-lined, tapered slanting fairways, contoured and speedy greens, frequent tricky bunkers and natural vegetation .It also has an uneven sloping topography, which is made of water hazards and ravines on the back nine, making San Roque a tough course and an exigent test of skills and for all levels of golfers.

Some of the best holes of the San Roque Golf Club include the 5th with its slender fairway, 6th with a long par 4, lake and uphill green. One of the most demanding closing hole is the par 5, 17th, which is surrounded with water hazards. The signature hole is the par 4, 18th which can make or just break your winning score.

The course is a demanding proposition, with its tight, inclined fairways, wind swishing through the cork trees and this has made the estate particularly famous. It offers breathtaking panorama of the neighboring mountains. The internal half of the course is more magnificent, passing through the continuing hills and the challenging carries above the yawning ravines. The closing holes will take the golfer to the glistening lake at the heart of the resort, offering a finish which is as attractive as taxing.

Visiting the San Roque Club is a must for any exciting golf holiday in Southern Spain, with a globally famous golf academy and two of the best championship course in this area. The course has a 5 star hotel, the San Roque Suites, which has been designed about the family manor of the old Domecq sherry dynasty.
