The group that came into force in the late 1960s has made their mark for many decades

. What sets the group apart from the new rise of pop and rock artists are their soul and rock blended undertones. Carlos Santana has been the driving force and perhaps the protagonist of the entire group. They made their presence felt when they rolled out their song Soul Sacrifice at the Woodstock festival in their early days. This got them noticed as they added the Latino element to their smooth voices. With a unique approach to their music they have upped their game and have been in the international charts for years now.

Prior to naming their band after the main artist they were known as the Santana Blues Band. Once they got rid of the extra words in their brand they have soared. Their songs have the evergreen tone to them and can be listened to at any time any event. The band comprises of various artists that have come and gone over the years. The ones who achieved the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio have been Mike Carabello, Michael Shrieve, Jose Chepito Areas, Greg Rolie, David Brown and Carlos.

Come the 1970s after their international presence was felt they came out with their studio album Abraxas. They enjoyed immense commercial and evinced critical interest in their huge audience base. It has been known that from the time they started out the run of singers in the band have grown to practically half a century! Who would have thought! This has been going on for years on end. In fact with their immense fan following and ability to create music that appeals to many they have won many Grammy awards. The group has never made the news in the press for bad behavior or tantrums. They have been away from the glare of the paparazzi because of their ability to stick to their roots.

Debating their religious beliefs has got many in a tizzy. However, the need to follow the path where one chooses to is a choice. They took a slow turn in the 1990s and were relatively silent for a while. Santana came back with a bang however, with their albums Supernatural and Shama. This had people flocking to get to know them more and they have made their mark in the hearts of the current generation and the rocker crowd. The generation that prefers pop, rhythm and blues, hip hop, rap, country, religious music may not find his music suitable to their tastes. But then to each his or her own! A diehard fan will always want to listen to their music at any time in his or her life. The famous numbers that have been belted out to the general public are black magic woman, smooth, soul sacrifice, and others.

The soulful guitarist Carlos Santana has displayed his talent, energy and thirst to share his passion with his vast audience. The stellar performances that they have showcased over the past four decades have made them a force to reckon with in the entertainment world. In spite of the ups and downs in their personal lives the group has shown that they have come out of their unfortunate difficulties and are here to stay.
