Sasquatch Music Festival Tickets - May's Festival Features Big & Small

It is that time again, summer concert lovers, to get out your sunscreen

, some comfortable shoes and some serious cash for the Sasquatch Music Festival, happening this year at the end of May. Though tickets are already sold out, fans who purchase online don't have to worry as Sasquatch Music Festival tickets are still available for this rockin' show. Returning to the Gorge in Quincy, Wash., the ninth annual festival will feature some of the hottest names in the music industry - like Vampire Weekend, the National, My Morning Jacket, Massive Attack, Pavement, LCD Soundsystem, Ween, MGMT, Passion Pit, She & Him, Band of Horses and many others. This spring festival is going to be unlike any other, so don't miss it!

Music magazines can't stop raving about this year's all-star lineup, as AOL's Spinner said, "It's pretty much a dream lineup for indie kids...Maybe it's time to start planning your summer kick-off." The Memorial Day weekend fest marks just the beginning of summer festival season, but with such hot acts planning to attend Sasquatch, it is going to be an event hard to follow up. It is renowned for welcoming some of the most eclectic mix of performers throughout its three day festival and founder Adam Zacks is a personal fan of each and every band he brings on board every year. "It's our goal each year to present a fresh lineup that reflects the independent spirit of the Pacific Northwest, respects the artists and audience, and celebrates the grandeur of the Gorge," he says to Plug In Music.

Founded in 2002, the Washington event is also proud of its representation of emerging indie acts in addition to its established headliners. Welcoming performers from nearly every genre, past Sasquatch performers have included R.E.M., Coldplay, Kanye West, the Beastie Boys, Wilco, the Cure, Bjork and M.I.A. Festival creators are often known to have a little fun with the lineup as well, welcoming comedians in the past like Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman and the Flight of the Conchords team (this year Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari will perform in the Rumpus Room).

For many independent music lovers, Sasquatch has retained its pure innocence through all eight years of existence. While others of a similar demeanor (like Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo) have taken on new forms of promotion, Sasquatch has remained true to its original frame - getting the fans the new music they crave. As one of the last remaining gross roots organizations that has expanded solely by word of mouth, Zacks started his festival at a time when others were calling it quits.

Nine years later he remains the most successful of the bunch, holding onto the European model that enabled sell outs immediately. "The growth of Sasquatch has been parallel to this rise in online music discovery and that's the audience we cater to," said founder Zacks to Consequence of Sound. "Coachella and Bonnaroo are fantastic, but they're like Star Wars-huge and awesome, and I'm just trying to make Annie Hall." Just by promoting new musicians, remaining a smaller event and offering up great services the Sasquatch Festival caters to indie fans and musicians, making it one successful event.
