Satellite Antennas: Tips For Installation

Satellite antennas are the latest technology trends

. It is fast replacing the earlier cable television with better coverage of channels, better picture quality and at a much more reasonable rate in the long term.

Satellite antennas are significant components for the satellite TV network. Since the antennas have to receive signals from the satellite circling the earth and transmit it to the TV, location is very important when you set them up. It is a common misconception that a satellite antenna is difficult to install.

Tips for satellite antenna installation:

*Where to install: Setting up the antenna in the right place is the most important thing that you need to consider. Since the satellite is positioned along the great circle; you have to position the antenna in such a way that it faces the satellite without any obstacle. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere then the antenna should be positioned to the south and the reverse if you are in the Southern Hemisphere.

*The right direction: the next important feature to be considered to set up a satellite antenna is to find the right pointing coordinates. This can easily be done by connecting the handset to the television and clicking on the menu. There will appear a number of coordinates on the screen which are basically the numbers depicting the left-right settings and the elevation which you need to select depending on the coordinates corresponding to the left right setting.

*Mount the Mast: the final task that involves the installation of the antenna is to fix the antenna to the stand provided with the system. You can mount it on a concrete wall, solid wood or on the roof but make sure that the mast is secure and strong since it has to support the weight of the antenna. Once this is over you can place the antenna on the mast and connect it to the cable.

Following these simple instructions you can install satellite antennas with ease. However, basic knowledge about the electronic device will come handy while performing your task.
