We are currently living in the year 2010. The first version of the television, although quite foreign to our standard today, was developed in the year 1907. It is really incredible to look at all of the technological advancements that have been made to give us what some deem the latest and greatest in TV land in our current day. Of all the different companies and packages out there, try to provide the every day citizen with the best service they can. And these days, the new, cutting edge entertainment everyone wants would not be complete with out Satellite TV.

Looking back at the history of the television, it was seen that there existed dual and individual paths of technology that researched experimented with at the dawn of this effort. The earliest inventors tried to either construct a mechanical TV apparatus using the advanced technology created by Paul Nipkow. This man is known for his invention of the rotating disks. The other path that many embarked on was trying to develop an electronic television system. The version utilized a cathode ray tube that was developed separately in 1907 by A.A. Campbell-Swinton of England and scientist Boris Rosing from Russia. It turned out that electronic television systems worked better and eventual replaced mechanical systems, laying the groundwork for HD TV as we know it today.

Skipping the chain of development by a few years we then come to Philo Farnsworth. He, in 1927, invented a system enabling the transmission of a television image that was comprised of 60 horizontal lines. To most, this meant Farnsworth hit the jackpot and signified dollars signs. Although this is way before the era of high definition TV and things of that nature, he is credited with laying the foundation for all of the technological advancements we have seen in the last decade. In 1927, Farnsworth applied for the first ever patent on the television patent.

During the 1970s most television were then equipped with color. Another incredible milestone for this evolving medium came in the year 1969, which marked first TV transmission from the moon. Statistics show that 600 million people watched this broadcast.

This facilitated the implementation of what many people now rely on for their every entertainment need, that being Satellite TV. According to Wikipedia, satellite television is different type of TV because it is delivered by a means of communication between satellites. This information is then received by a satellite dish and set-top box. In many areas of the world, where this service reaches, this technology provides a large variety of services and channels. Additionally, in many cases, it enables connection and service to areas that are not included by cable or terrestrial providers.

Now cable companies are arming packages of every variety for every niche want a consumer may possess. Of course the basic cable packages exist, but most of the general public desires more. Now with the low cost of accessing television on this manner, you can get your sports, news and movies all in one affordable pack. The television has come a long way since its days of inception and surely is has a long way to go.
