Satellite Tv Brings Premium Shows To Ohio

Even though it is summertime, that does not mean that good television needs to come to a halt until fall season premieres again

. Occasionally in Ohio the weather is just too hot and humid to be outside, especially if you do not live near a pool or lake for swimming. Sometimes, you just want to curl up inside with your high definition TV and air conditioning and watch some good television. Luckily, most TV providers now bring you premium channels at a low cost price so you can watch all of your favorite shows and movies. The following are some shows worth taking the time to catch up on this summer when the heat or rains of Ohio just get to be too much to bear:

- How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Though not a premium show and available on basic cable, How I Met Your Mother is one of the funniest shows on television today thanks to CBS. Neil Patrick Harris stars as the misogynist womanizer, despite in real life being gay. The story focuses on five friends and their quests for love in New York City. Be sure to catch the episode from Season 5 where Barney (Neil Patrick Harriss character) goes to the mother of all sports events, the Super Bowl with a Magic Phone.

- Dexter (Showtime): Dexter is creepy, maddening and utterly fascinating all at once. Michael C. Hall places a serial killer who, get this, kills for good. After discovering an urge to kill, his father teaches him to put his need for evil to good use and to rid the world of bad people. It is a mystifying show best watched in high definition because of the strikingly beautiful, yet gritty way it is filmed. Season 4 was the shows most freakish yet, and it only looks like an uphill climb from here.

- Mad Men (AMC): Another show where the beauty of the slow drama is in the detail, it is also best seen in HD. The show focuses on the life of Don Draper, played by John Hamm. He is a New York creative director at an ad agency. Season 3 left with a bang as his wife fled to Reno and he and other colleagues left Sterling-Cooper to create their own agency. Season 4 begins on July 25.

- Californication (HBO): A new HBO favorite, David Duchovnys character life mirrors his real as this sex addict and writer seeks out meaningful relationships. This show is heavily monitored on satellite TV and other premium stations, as it is certainly not one for the kids. Best to set parental controls on this show.

- Greys Anatomy (ABC): Another show not on a premium station, but still relevant despite sliding ratings, Greys Anatomy has been a television staple for years now. Watch Meredith Grey, Derek Shepherd and the rest of the Seattle Grace gang slice and dice their way through the past season of heartbreak and surgeries in high definition.
