Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to postpone indefinitely the BlackBerry messaging ban after

a period spent in finding a solution allows authorities to monitor the service on your smartphone.

The telecommunications watchdog in the ultra-conservative Muslim country announced the BlackBerry service would remain online, as reported progress in efforts to find a solution in a statement carried by state news agency SPA.

Communications and Information Technology Commission ordered mobile operators to block the main services Friday BlackBerry last week or face a fine of $ 1.3 million, after similar action by other Arab nations.

After several days of talks and testing possible solutions for operators, CITC said Tuesday that "the decision to allow the maintenance of a BlackBerry messaging service."

The regulator said it was continuing "to work with service providers to complete the rest of the regulatory requirements" for BlackBerry, which are made by Canadian company Research in Motion, or RIM.
