It is one way of relaxing your mind and your body. The warmth of the steam opens your pores in your body, and dilates your blood vessels, which is a very good way of letting your whole system be nourished because when the vessels dilates, more blood goes into the system or organ. More nutrients are transported when blood flow is not disrupted, and wastes are easily excreted out. So when the vessels dilate, the wastes in our cells are eliminated through the form of sweat. Through this, you burn calories and increase your caloric expenditure. You also reduce your blood pressure when you undergo sauna.

Saunas can also boost your immune system because it "awakens" your stagnant flow of blood. The blood is considered the vehicle for every molecule of your body to function properly. Nonetheless, one should not rely solely on losing weight using the sauna. Remember you may lose a few pounds, but it is only fluid loss, you have to lose fats to be able to permanently reduce your weight.
