as you wonder what you can do to save your home from foreclosure? Are you unable to sleep or eat or concentrate on much more than what you can do to avoid foreclosure? Are you confused over what your options are and what you should do? It really can be enough to make a person want to throw up their hands and just want to walk away from the whole situation.

I know that this was what it was like for me. Each day the calls from the mortgage company came in and every day my mailbox had notices reminding me that I was in default on my mortgage and would be facing foreclosure. I had honestly thought of simply packing up my belongings and just driving away to start a new life somewhere else. I was going to be homeless in a few months anyhow if the mortgage company went through with the foreclosure like they were threatening.

The turning point for me occurred one weekend when my son came to visit with me. Watching him pick flowers in the back yard of my house gave me the strength to actually stand up and begin to do something about the impending foreclosure. I wanted my boys to be able to continue to play in their yard. I didn"t want anyone else"s kids playing in their yard and I decided that I wasn"t going to allow the mortgage company to foreclose on me without a fight.

After my son went home I began researching my options. I searched for a way to avoid foreclosure and keep my house without having to risk going through one of the hard money lenders and without doing a short sale. I wanted to come out the other side of my foreclosure nightmare with my home intact and all my bills being paid on time. So I searched the internet late into the night for advice on how to avoid foreclosure.

Most of the offers for free books on how to avoid foreclosure where just scams where I would enter my name and email address in and never get a thing. Well, I should correct that. I did receive a lot of wonderful spam from tons of companies that wanted to help me to refinance my mortgage for a fee and avoid foreclosure. Personally, I don"t trust too many people and given that there are a lot of scam artists out there looking to make a quick buck off of people in my position I passed and just grew steadily more and more frustrated.

Long story short, I contacted an old friend who worked as a paralegal for a foreclosure attorney. I was embarrassed to call her and ask for her help but I was desperate. With the information that she gave me I was able to get the mortgage company to work with me. She told me what to say, who to say it to and exactly how to say it. By combining this information with an action plan to get myself back on my feet financially I was able to save my home from foreclosure.

I won"t tell you that it was an easy process and it might have been easier just to walk away but this wasn"t what I wanted for myself or my children. My home was the biggest and best investment I had ever made and I wasn"t going to allow the bank to foreclose on me without at least trying" and my plan worked for me and it might for you too.
