Belize is somewhat of an undiscovered secret tucked away in Central America. Formerally known as British Honduras, Belize is unique in that it is one of the only nations in Central America with a British colonial heritage. Because of this, Belize is a very diverse country with many cultures and languages. It also has one of the lowest popular densities in the world, making it perfect relaxing place for a vacation or honeymoon so save your poker chips for the trip. There are many great things to do in Belize but to start, Belize is located right near one of the worlds great reefs, the Great Barrier Reef. Only a few minute boat ride off the coast and you are on the outskirts of this amazing reef. Besides the great scenery underwater, above the water there is a lot of great Mayan ruins and tropical scenery to take in. If you like scuba diving, jungle, hiking or bird watching than Belize is a great place to go. One great thing about Belize is that it is not very touristy, you wont find any chain restaurants around on the islands, though there may be some on the mainland (which is not recommended as it has very high crime.) There are various islands on Belize to stay on but I would suggest San Pedro, which is in the Ambergis Kay, one of the most beautiful areas of the country. You wont be disappointed with your vacation in Belize and youll be telling all your friends to make their next vacation there, I guarantee it.About the Author:
