Save a failing marriage from divorce

Seems like yesterday I found myself in the spot of learning what I could do to save

a failing marriage: My Own! It's not quite a position I could imagine to find myself in. Together my wife and I were victims of our parents broken marriages and were committed not to let it become our fate. So it was obviously a great shock to me as my wife revealed to me everything we built had ended. I was lost. What I thought of was saying sorry about anything I imagined I could possibly have done. Never worked. I began coming up with all the things I would change. Don't bother. And of course, even on my knees, begging. NO. After a while, I wondered if I made strong strides to improve myself, act the way I thought was better and prove they were the most important part of my world, that as the days past, it would be back to normal.

After bit, it was ok. Most things got a breath of fresh air at home, and talk of divorce went away. Then, I wondered, I executed the exact direction to save a marriage and enjoying my hard work with a fixed marriage! But to my surprise, however, everything went in the same spot where all of it started. So there I was with no perk from my struggles to save my failing marriage. I stopped thinking there was a chance at all left. My partner appeared not to seem worried about saving our marriage and went right to divorce again! Heartbroke again, I turned to my earlier attempts; the same ole same ole wasted efforts etc. I just didn't have it in me anymore to do more of the same.

On the bright side though, my marriage is now on better terms, but only after I completely reconsidered my tactics. I had to learn how to keep from making the ordinary misconceptions anyone would at the time a marriage is at stake. I was desperate to know everything I could do, put it in words, and what to avoid. At that time, I learned how to get out of my emotional state and start doing. I also found out that traditional counseling can actually be a big blunder. What finally guided me finally was discovering the solutions to my questions, and realizing I am not the only one. Thankfully, another person was merciful to fill in the blanks, for me to save a failing marriage.
