Nobody likes to have any relationship break. The thought of bad blood with somebody you love can be difficult to digest. It can be quite awkward especially if you are part of a larger friends or family circle. The best way to save a relationship is to keep working at the differences you have. Every relationship has some sensitive points. Being able to face them and solve them can help save a relationship on a rocky path. But before you begin to work at saving your relationship, you have to introspect on whether it is worth saving. While some relationships just go through a rough patch, others genuinely have hit the end of the road. You have to know where you stand clearly.
Analyze first if your relationship is really failing. Maybe one of you has been unfaithful. Infidelity is often a sign of unhappiness in the present relationship. If you think it is one that is worth saving, then you will have to learn to put the past behind you and work towards saving relationship. Often partners feel trapped in relationships and express themselves by making a partner jealous or having an affair. While for some this may be a genuine issue, for others it is often a cry for help in terms of saving a relationship.
There are certain activities that a couple can try to help strengthen their relationship. Outside help and activities are frowned on as silly. But for those who have tried these, they are helpful. One way to solve differences is to have them come out in the open. Each partner can write down the good and bad points of the other. With the bad points, suggest a possible solution. Once you have this all down, sit down with your partner and have a discussion on all the topics. Keeping an open mind is very important. Each one of you has to understand that reason behind this exercise is to help save the relationship. Sometimes, professional help may be needed and you should hesitate on asking for this.
Professional help plays an important role. Your counselor is a neutral authority who can view your problems from an outside angle. His or her opinion is one you must consider as it will give you a perspective that you may not have seen earlier. Saving a relationship is not an easy task. Egos have to be kept aside and both partners have to work an improving their personal equations. Sometimes a lot has to be forgiven in order to save a relationship.
