The economic climate is increasingly glum in the UK; companies are closing their doors left

, right and centre, banks are needing to be bailed out all the time and consequently, that means that we are all becoming more careful with our money. Unfortunately, however, we still need transport, and a car is an expensive outlay. There is a way of saving money on our vehicles though, and that is to buy a used Honda, Toyota or other car.

Purchasing used rather than brand new is an excellent way to save yourself money on your vehicle, while not necessarily compromising on the quality of the car. There are a range of reputable used Honda, Mini and Daewoo dealerships throughout the country which will ensure that your 'new' used vehicle will be in the best possible condition, will be cleaned and freshly valeted and will have been thoroughly checked mechanically, meaning that your car will essentially be as well taken care of as a new one.

Although buying a used Honda, Ford or Nissan is nowhere near as exciting or as much fun as walking into a dealerships and driving out in a brand new Ferrari, it is a far more economically sound proposal. A new car depreciates by a large margin the minute it is off the forecourt, but once a car has already suffered this loss, it will likely not depreciate that much more when it is on the used market. In this respect, the investment made in a used car rather than a new one makes it seem like a more intelligent investment.

We are all increasingly watching our money thanks to the recession, and we're all saving money where we can, but with the continual necessity for transport, many of us still need to own a car or sometimes more than one, and the money saved on purchasing a used Honda, Hyundai or Toyota is the ideal way to keep ourselves on the road without emptying the bank.

Often available for far less than you may be expecting, a used Honda, Mini or Ford will often be just as reliable and economical to run as a new model and if purchased from the right dealership, will often be in good enough condition that the car could almost pass for new. A good dealership will clean and valet your 'new' used car and will even provide that 'new car' smell, ensuring that your used car purchase feels just as special as a new one would, regardless of the cost.
