have moved too many times to even count. Just about every time we move, we throw more and more of our old unused items away.

Sure, we all have boxes of random stuff in our closets, basements and storage units. Subsequently we get the feeling we no longer need these items, and just throw them away in the nearby land fill. Sit back and think about what we throw away. On average we throw away about 200 million tons of stuff a day, and only one quarter of it is actually recycled. There has to be a better solution then throwing it in a landfill.

Try to recycle your items. This little effort will help save planet earth one person at a time. There are lots of free recycling companies for just about anything you want to discard. I know some of these companies might not be the most convenient for us to get too. For that reason many companies will pick up your stuff on certain days of the week if you just contact them first. There are even several places that will pay you to ship your recycled items to them. Most of these companies are looking for specific items; make sure to find out what that is first.

Then think about different ways to sell your items. I know a yard sale or a garage sale seems easy enough. You can even post a free ad, on many local classified sites just to advertise your event. Just remember if you have a yard sale to price your items accordingly. Many people, who shop at these sales, are looking for bargains. So don't over price your items, price them to sell and you should have good luck.

Yes eBay comes to mind, but there are many different pros and cons to that idea. Another idea is donating to charities, but unfortunately that is not as easy as it once was. Most charities want you to drop your stuff off; picks ups are available for the right merchandise and price value. A lot of times these companies won't stop by to pick your items up, or just overlook you all together.

Electronics are probably the heaviest of the trash we Americans throw away. So the option to find a better home than a landfill is a necessity. On the internet you can find many sites, which will actually pay you cash for your unwanted electronics, and or video games. Yes, even old video games are still very well-liked by many people. The concept of having $500 in my hand seems promising rather than having nothing.
