Saw 6 - Saw Vi Movie And Trailer Updates

Saw 6 should be hitting theaters this Halloween

, 2009 and it promises more of the same stuff that we've come to expect from every other installment in the series of traps and puzzles from Jigsaw, the man who loves to make people learn lessons before they die.

Unfortunately, I am of the opinion that Saw 6 (and for that matter, the 7th and 8th installments of the series) really are going way beyond where they should have gone. It's getting to the point where Saw and Jigsaw are not capable of dying, just as Freddy and Jason managed to continue coming back one time after another after another.

The trouble is that when a horror movie really becomes successful, the audience is taken over by what I like to call the booze and babes crowd. This is basically the same kind of person who the Scream series so successfully made fun of.

This crowd just loves to see blood and guts as long as there are also plenty of hot babes and while this can certainly be entertaining, it's a shame that the Saw franchise, which started out so incredibly well and was actually trying to be intelligent instead has descended to this point.

I checked out what is known of the movie and they are apparently trying to go back to basics by showing us a Jigsaw style puzzle with 6 people in danger (one wonders if this is a sop to the fact that this is Saw 6, i.e. the 6th movie) who will need to make lots of horrible choices.

Although if we see something like what we saw in Saw 5, we're going to be seeing lots of blood and guts but the traps, while ingenious likely will be pretty pointless and instead will be there for the simple purpose of creating tons of blood and guts (In Saw 5, many of the traps were tricks and people would die no matter what they did).

The story follows the last of the Jigsaw proteges as he tries to evade the FBI and of course cause all kinds of death and misery to so many others.

If you're into that kind of thing (and you know who you are - you're the next generation of the Freddy and Jason crowd, the ones who like to see babes and will likely watch the DVD again and again with a beer in hand), then I'm sure you're going to love the newest one as well.

On the other hand, for the highly intelligent move goer who actually saw in the original movie something that they really wanted to explore, Saw 6 is likely to be a bit of a snooze.
