Under the eye wrinkles make a person look much older than their actual age

. These unwanted lines pose a big problem and make a big impact on one's self esteem. Most people would do anything to maintain their youth or to improve their looks. To some it's an obsession. Deep eye wrinkles have several causes. It could be genetic to begin with and when neglected might be difficult to get rid of eventually. The skin under the eyes is very thin and delicate making it the first to deteriorate as years pass by. Wrinkles are also caused by over exposure to the sun, dehydration, smoking, sleep deprivation and stress.

Skin overly exposed to the sun is skin prone to wrinkling. The sun's UV rays seeping into the skin cause mutation of the skin which produces wrinkles. Protecting the skin from the sun by wearing sun block and sunglasses would decrease the likelihood of wrinkling.

The sun's ultra violet rays permeating the skin produce free radicals which cause wrinkles and other types of skin blemishes. Make it a habit to wear sunglasses not only when it's sunny but when it's windy as well. This is to protect the delicate skin under the eyes and prevent squinting which also contributes to wrinkling of the skin.


When the body lacks water, this will be manifested through dry skin and dull complexion. Water is an essential nutrient that the whole body needs in the same manner that the skin needs it to become moisturized. Eye creams can also help in locking in the moisture in the skin and preventing it from escaping.

Dehydration causes the skin to become dry, making it prone to wrinkle formation. The face, among other parts of the body, needs much moisture to keep fresh and hydrated. Drinking enough water and liquid can hydrate the body from the inside and makes the skin moisturized. Moisturizers and other soothing facial creams, on the other hand, lock water in and make the skin healthy and smooth.

Stress should also be kept to a minimum level to keep the skin from damages caused by chemical reactions brought about by tension and trauma. Stress is directly associated to skin's dullness and wrinkling. It always pays to be proactive to avoid unnecessary stress. It would also help to take things lightly and not too seriously so as to avoid any disappointing circumstances taking away the best in us.

Stress promotes over production of cortisol, the stress hormone, which once injected into the bloodstream would cause collagen to shred off the skin. This gives way to degeneration of the skin making it prone to wrinkle formation. Learn to manage stress by being positive and practical.
