When you're browsing Craigslist it can be really easy to get caught up in some of the ads. While most people believe if something is too good to be true then it probably is, the truth is that you can find really good deals on Craigslist as well, some that may even seem unbelievable!

So you want to keep yourself safe, but at the same time, you really want to check out some of those deals. Well there are many scam sites out there that talk about various scams going on across a variety of platforms, from unsolicited phone calls, to posted flyers, to online ads. Craigslist seems to have grown into a scam farm of its very own in the past few years though.

So what is a frugal deal shopper to do? I was browsing Craigslist a few weeks ago looking for some furniture. Someone was offering some really nice Ikea pieces at a very very low price. I happened to do a Google search on the seller's email. Lo and behold, this person was running a Western Union scam in hundreds of different cities on Craigslist. And how did I find this information? The first result for the email was from an online forum called ScamsOnCraigs.com. I was blown away at what else I found there.

There are literally new scams every day in each section of Craigslist and this site reports them ALL. From people claiming to hold missing pets hostage to people trying to unload the same tractor in different cities. I've since then made visiting this site a part of my routine before or after visiting Craigslist, so that I'm prepared.
