As a dentist, I know that I am the last person people want to see
. Yet, having clients establish a regular routine of check-ups is critical to their dental health. With more and more dentists in my area, I was struggling to find a way to calm my patient's nerves and make coming to the dentist a less stressful experience. I did not have a lot of money to invest in fancy advertising or upgrades to my office but I knew I had to do something. That is when I discovered scent marketing and put scent machines to work in my practice.
By using scent systems, my patients are met with a very pleasant smell when they enter my door. I am amazed at the reaction of my patients. Some just seem more relaxed and less anxious. Others have asked what we have done to the place or even think we have remodeled. One client even remarked to my receptionist that it is nice that our office does not have the usual hospital smell that often permeates through medical facilities.
The biggest surprise for me was how nice it was for me to come to work and how much better the staff seem to get along and enjoy coming to work once we started. I never expected something I would do for my patients would have such positive rewards for the entire practice.
All in all I am very happy with my decision to invest in scent marketing. I anticipate my patients will be more willing to keep their teeth healthy by scheduling their regular appointments and will be more likely to keep those appointments on their calendars.
