Scherone Clark Lectures On Finding Your Own Inner Spirtuality

The purpose of this article is not to convert, condemn, or condone anyone's religion or to tell anyone how to think. Unfortunately society has done enough of that for us all. I'm here to offer hope and a different perspective that goes against the mainstream way of thinking.

Where does this emptiness come from?

This has been a question that has plagued mankind for centuries. In my opinion most have not found the answers to this question because they're looking in the wrong places. One of the joys of being a Nutraceutrical Consultant (I implement health and wellness and weight management programs with health professionals), is that I get to interact with people on a personal level. What I've found is that people want their questions answered and problems solved immediately, which is unrealistic in some cases, because of this mentality and fear; it's very easy to look for internal questions about one's self outside of one's self. In my childhood, I was forced into religion and I was given answers to life's questions before I even asked (does that sound familiar)? When I grew up, I was focused on obtaining materialistic and physical things. The more and more I've obtained, the more I realized how empty I really was; yet internally I felt like I was connected to everyone and everything even though my religion and society told me differently. I started looking towards others for answers on why I felt this way, but unfortunately the answers never came. Ironically the universe has a strange way of answering questions from the most unlikely sources. A friend of mines, who was considered a neighborhood jokester, asked me a very simple and profound question, "how do you expect to find answers about you from someone else?"

How to fill the void?

To be truthful, no one can fill the void for you. It takes willingness and a great courage to trust the truth within you. In my experiences, I had to drop all preconceived notions that I had about myself and others; a willingness to accept that my thoughts and my actions weren't my own (even though I felt like they were). The reality is that most of our thoughts are formed by popular beliefs and what society tells us to believe. It's very difficult to break free from thoughts and actions that have been instilled in us since childhood. This is why we struggle to go within because we've depended on others to think for us which is the easiest and the most familiar thing for us to do. When you go within yourself without any expectations, you realize that you are no different than anyone else, you struggle with the same issues as everyone and you are more connected than you think. The most important thing I've learned is to simply be content and choose to enjoy all things around you because life is simply an experience and very impermanent. Ultimately you are the master of your own thoughts, take back control of your own thoughts and let your true self blossom from within, you are greater than you think!
