Scholarships For Minority Women - Minority Scholarships, Grants And Rewards

, a lot of scholarships for minority women have recently become more available and now could be your chance. In fact, new scholarships and grants for the women minority are surfacing and are providing women with a fresh new start.

The government isn't the only source for these scholarships and grants though. Even private companies and non-profit organizations are providing more types of scholarships for women minority as well as opportunities for women to finish their college education and eventually, get a better job. Below are a few of these scholarships and grants:

The Margaret MacNamera Memorial Fund focuses on supporting women beyond the age of 40 years old and were born abroad, but have become naturalized American citizens over time.

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Program or FSEOG supports undergraduate students with grants to assist them in their post-secondary education. Their awards can go from $100 to $4, 000 per year.

The United Negro College Fund supports women who attend the colleges of Spellman and Howard University, as well as other historically prominent black colleges.

The Academic Competitiveness Grant or ACG is a grant supported by the federal government. It provides assistance to qualified students with awards ranging from $750 for one academic year or $375 for every semester on the first year of receiving the grant and $1, 300 for the academic year or $650 for every semester on the second year of the grant. There are about 4, 000 post-secondary universities and institutions that honor this grant.

Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology or DFBSST is a $2, 000 grant given to African American college students taking up studies under Science and Technology.

The Ron Brown Scholar Program supports graduating high school students with a grant totaling to $10, 000 in total for every academic year or stay in college.

The Federal Pell Grant Program is perhaps the most in demand grant program today. It is sponsored by the US Department of Education itself and is awarded to undergraduates, especially those without a bachelor or a graduate degree. The award ranges from $4, 731 to $5, 400 a year.

A lot of successful individuals today went through college with the help of these scholarships and grants and you could be one of them. If you are of legal age and your qualifications fit perfectly with those required by these programs, there is no reason why you shouldn't give these scholarship programs a shot today.
