School Reunion: Getting Ready

If you are going to be headed to a school reunion soon

, you should get ready for an interesting mix of individuals who you havent seen in a long time. Some of them will be more or less successful than others, but its a good way to reconnect with people that you were friends with back in the day.

Thinking about how often you will be headed to a school reunion, your typical numbers are going to be five, 10, 20, and then maybe every 20 years after that. The reason is that people become more interested in their own personal lives and families and have less to do with the people that they knew back in school.

Usually it is your old class heads that organize these types of events, so you should plan on getting an invitation from them may be about six months before the actual event is going to occur. This is so they can usually order the right amount of resources.

Depending on how big of a class you are a part of, will sort of determined the location of this event. It may be a large place, or it could be somewhere as small as the high school auditorium where you used to eat lunch.

There different types of school reunion events as well. High school ones are the most common, but there are also ones for college. The college ones are little bit more rare, because people dont have the same source of camaraderie or forced interaction that they did in high school, but maybe if you are a lawyer or a doctor he would make more sense.

Often there can be two categories of school reunion as well, the formal and informal. The formal ones usually have people dressing up and bringing husbands and wives, whereas the informal ones are more likely to have something like children, and where people wear jeans and T-shirts to just talk. Neither is better or worse, they are just different in how they are set up.

So the cost of going to school reunion can vary greatly depending on your situation. If you have to buy a plane ticket to get there, that can be cost prohibitive, whereas if you just have to drive, the cost can be more reasonable.

Some people have some sort of strange fear of the idea of the school reunion, but after you go to your first one, youll realize that there isnt anything to worry about. The people that you dealt with back then will often be more relaxed and it will be less stressful than you imagine.
