STANLEY SUE (Ph.D., Psychology, University of California, LosAngeles, 1971) is Professor of Psychology at UCLA. He was formerly a faculty member at the University of Washington and Director of Clinical-Community Psychology Training at the National Asian-American Psychology Training Center, an APA approved internship program. His research focuses upon Asian American mental health and personality as well as service delivery systems for ethnic minority groups. He is particularly interested in bicultural adaptation.


AMADO M. PADILLA (Ph.D., Experimental Psychology, Universityof New Mexico, 1969) is Professor of Psychology at the University of California at Los Arlgeles. His research interests include acculturation, bilingualism, and psychological factors related to the well beingof Hispanics. He is Director of the Spanish Speaking Mental Health Research Center at UCLA and the recently created Center forLanguage, Education and Research funded by the National Instituteof Education. The author of approximately 100 publications including Acculturatlon: Theory, Models, and Some New Flndlngs (Westview, 1980), he is also the founding editor of the Hlspanlc Journal of Behavioral Sciences.
