Fue diputado -1985-1989- embajador, y miembro fundador de Accin Democrtica Nacionalista, partido poltico de centro-derecha. Presidi la comisin de Poltica Exterior del Congreso Nacional de Bolivia y actu como representante oficial del pas ante distintos foros y organismos internacionales, entre ellos, la OEA. Durante su actividad congresal fue catalogado por todos los rganos de prensa de Bolivia, como el mejor parlamentario del pas. Columnista de opinin y analista poltico con presencia regular en prestigiosos peridicos de Latinoamrica, Norteamrica, Europa y el Medio Oriente, es el periodista boliviano ms ledo en el mundo. Particip en importantes programas televisivos del calibre de "60 Minutes" y "The MacNeil/Lehrer Report". Brechner es activo defensor de la propiedad privada, de la economa de mercado y de las libertades y derechos del individuo. Jose Brechner was born in Bolivia. A former congressman and ambassador, (1985-1989), was a founder member of Accion Democratica Nacionalista, a right of center party. He was chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Bolivian Congress, and represented the country at several international forums included the Organization for American States (OAS). During his mandate, was nominated by all Bolivian media as the best congressman. OPED writer and Political Analyst, his articles are published in journals from North America, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. He is the most popular Bolivian journalist in the world today. Brechner was invited to participate in high rank TV shows, as "60 Minutes" and "The MacNeil/Lehrer Report".
