Bounce Rate:
This is the rate of visitors that enter your site, and leave within the first 5 seconds (as calculated by Google Analytics) without viewing another page.
Google Analytics is a great tool, no doubt about it. Its also pretty complex and therefore the F.A.Q. list will be big. Most of the questions will have an answer in the Google Analytics Help Center, but there will always be questions you probably wont find the answers at all. Lets take a look at the bounce rate report. Mainly, bounces are defined as a single page visits to your website. Bounce rate will apply to your landing pages (the destination URLs of your PPC or banner campaigns or search results in search engines, emails, etc).
If you have content that is accessible only by login into your account or if your checkout pages are accessible only from previous pages, how can they have bounce rates? How can an a page that is not accessible without coming from a previous page can have a bounce rate? It should ony have an exit rate, isnt it?
If the order confirmation page or the thank you page is only accessible after visitors log in into their accounts there shouldnt be any bounce rate! Really? Take a look at the Top Content report and see if any of your secure/checkout pages are displaying bounce rates
Cost-per-Click (CPC):
System where an advertiser pays an agreed amount for each click someone makes on a link leading to their web site. Also known as PPC or paid listings.

The terms pay-per-click (PPC) and cost-per-click (CPC) are sometimes used interchangeably, sometimes as distinct terms. When used as distinct terms, PPC indicates payment based on click-throughs, while CPC indicates measurement of cost on a per-click basis for contracts not based on click-throughs.
For example, consider a campaign where payment is based on impressions, not clicks. Impressions are sold for $10 CPM with a click-through rate (CTR) of 2%.
Index:
The collection of information (contained in a large database) a search engine has that searchers can query against.
