Every minute, every second a new site or blog is created and a new post is published. Just like this one. So in this huge universe of competition we all want our websites to be on top.
The Up sides of SEO:
1. It is almost free unless you hire any SEO firm to do the service for you.
2. The results in return of SEO are worth doing it.
3. You website get global traffic and a higher reputation not only in search engines but also in people's eyes.
4. The people love to click the organic result.
5. It is very beneficial in the long run. Once done correctly it just benefits you and costs nothing.
The Down sides of SEO:
1. SEO is time consuming. If you create a website about an event coming in next few days, you can't do much more to get traffic from search engines in this short period.
2. Search engines index pages after a few days so it is also a problem to get a site indexed if it is new.
3. Search engines change their ranking factors time to time. A technique useful now may just not work tomorrow.
4. You site can be penalized and ranking can fall just for one mistake and it takes a long period to regain that position.
