Creating a proxy site can be an easy task however to create a proxy site with the intentions of relying on mainly search engine traffic is much more difficult.
The first steps in producing a search engine dependent proxy site is domain name research as this coincides with keyword research for Meta tags I shall go through the keyword research process in this part of the tutorial.
Firstly before you shoot off and purchase the domain name (don't worry we have all been there, so excited you do not think and instead go with your first instincts buying a brand new.com domain name without thinking it through first) you will want to target some specific keywords related to the proxy market.
The tool tells us that the keyword "proxy" and the top 100 words related receive 111,216 daily searches. Accurate or not that is a large amount of users searching for proxy sites each day. The tool shows us in descending order the highest keyword with the largest daily search volume the first being "proxy" with 19,730 the second being anonymous proxy with 13,766 and so on. The idea here is that you pick keywords with a large daily search volume and rank highly using search engine optimisation methods to bring your website to the first page of search engine results which would then mean your proxy site would be driving a large percentage of traffic through search engines. However it is not that simple, although the daily search volume for proxy sites is massive, we need to look at some other results also.
The image shows the amount of results from the search for "proxy" in Google search engine which gives us 83,300,000 now consider your self trying to rank highly for this keyword. It would take years for a proxy site to get a first page result for this certain keyword and although the traffic would be extremely high would it be worth it.
Instead of trying to rank for the number one keyword we shall instead look at optimising our proxy site for less competitive keywords. Through both free keyword tracker and using the Google search engine we can see which keywords have a small amount of results therefore helping us to rank on the first page for the keyword.
We shall instead focus on ranking highly for keywords which receive around 500-1,000 daily searches. We shall use 4-5 keywords for our proxy site Meta tags and we shall add one of the keywords our main keyword to our proxy domain if we can.
If we use free keyword tracker and scroll half way down the page you will mainly two word keywords these are the keywords we shall focus on targeting which in the long term effect will increase our search engine rankings for the one word keywords such as "proxy".

This will be our main keyword we shall target and hopefully through our search engine optimisation strategies we will be able to reach the first page for the search term.

myspace proxies 2939 searches daily 327,000 search engine results
We shall target these four search terms as our main keywords these will be included in both Meta tags (description, keywords) they will also appear in our title tag and also in our page content. This will help optimise our proxy site to allow search engines to rank our proxy site.
So we have our search terms, we have our domain name and the domain name has the keyword "proxies" in which ranks 3rd for most daily searches according to free keyword tracker with 9,414 daily searches so hopefully this should help us along with our search engine optimisation.

Top Tip: To discover what keywords many of the competition use you can go on to their website and right click > view page source then in the code you should be able to find near the top before the body section of the website Meta keywords this is the keywords which your competition target. However this does not work in all the cases, some websites block out people being able to view some of the code for a website when doing this however you should have no problem finding the competitions keywords for a proxy site.
