Content is key for a successful website. Content is great spider food for search engines, and there's nothing like quality content to prove your credibility and trustworthiness in your niche.

The problem is this: you are going to need a whole of content for blog posts, article marketing, and email newsletters - and that can be an intimidating process for all website owners, even those of us who genuinely like to write.

So what's a web site owner to do? Well, you can hire a ghostwriter, but a good ghostwriter who delivers quality, original content is going to cost you. A lot. It's pretty difficult to find decent articles for less than $15 each (and even most of these are going to need to be edited before they are up to snuff.)

That's where PLR (private label rights) content and articles can be a lifesaver.

With most Public Label Rights content, you can use the article as is, or you can edit and add to the article. You can use the PLR article as a basis for your own research into a particular article, or you can use the entire article as it stands.

For maximum advantage with PLR content, I suggest using the existing PLR as a springboard to create a new, better article of your very own - for either article marketing or for your own site. That way, you don't need to worry about duplicate content penalites. And you aren't starting completely from scratch every time you need an article or a blog post.

Once you start checking out different PLR options, you'll see that getting good PLR content isn't as easy as simply joining a Private Label membership community, finding an article and posting it to your site. When you buy private label rights, you can change them however you like, and - with most PLR services, you can put your own name on them.

Instead of simply using the articles, take time to find the best articles the PLR service offers. Then use them to create an outline of an article you want to use. Combine the articles, conduct more research, check the information that the articles already provides. Add your personal anecdotes and insights, create a good summary for a conclusion and be thinking always of the long tail keyword phrases that you want to target with the article as you write and rewrite it. Then make sure to use your keyword phrase in your title or headline, as well.

On a side note, make sure that you read the Terms and Conditions of any PLR membership plan before subscribing. Some services do not allow you to rewrite articles and use them for article marketing. Others do.

In summary: The best content is quality, original content - so my recommendation would be to use PLR articles, but use them to craft something that is uniquely yours. In other words, use PLR to save time and money, but always improve on the original.
