Secrets One Must Know Before Hiring Magicians

There are few really useful tricks if you are planning to hire wizards for adults or kids.

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

#1 Who are your targeted audience? The real truth is, most Magicians have their own specialty. Sure, we all do shows for kids and adults, but what does the performer fix his focus on. You'll be able to tell from their web page, but do ask them if you're not sure. If the Magician looks very serious, finely dressed and professional, he's more likely the business type performer. Searching for someone upbeat for kids? Look out for bright and contrasting dresses and a good smile.

Before you hire someone, confirm whether they suit the crowd. The usual mistake people make in employing their performance is choosing a guy who is boring. Match your Magician to your audience and your visitors will be happy and smiling.

#2 How lengthy is the magician's show? Note: Do not ask the magicians how long their act is. They'll all tell you the same time. Thirty minutes. Forty five minutes. Ask their recommendation of a show's length. This way, you're getting a show matched for the crowd. If they are only giving you an idea of how long of show they perform, they will come in, perform the act, and that is it.

What if you are having 5 year olds? An hour show will not go well with the kids. Even the best kids' performers keep the show to 45 minutes max. You can have some other games afterwards, but only if the flow changes. One show for that long and they'll be lost.

On the other hand, if we are talking a corporate or social cocktail party, about an hour might be what you will need. If this is before a dinner, guests may arrive at different times so you'll need a guy from the time visitors come (or may be just a few minutes after they arrive so you aren't wasting your money on the Magician providing entertainment to an empty room) to right up to the start of dinner.

The important thing here is to have a conversation. Anyone who just reads out a script and follows a "one size fits all" approach is not what we want. Trust me, after hundreds of events, I can surely tell you, every event is not the same. They are all very unique in their own way.

#3 What magic do you do? This here is another crucial question to ask to get an idea for the engagement and excitement your magician may have. Whether your guests are coming across your city to the program, or coming all the way from another continent, you want to impress them. You do this by interacting and making your visitors a part of the show. If you wanted a guy to just stand there and do tricks, you would hire a mime, right? So, the way to do it is to have interactive magic. Magic that happens in your guests hands. Get them to enjoy themselves, involved and these memories will stay forever.

Again, make sure what the Magician says he is going to perform, translates into excitement. Can you see in your mind your guests enjoying? Or does it look like just some show?
