While choosing wax for these candles, always make sure to buy wax that is specifically made for votive candles. Your retailer might be able to help you with this. Do not use container wax, as they are softer then pillar wax and will not be suitable for votives. Soy wax is the best.

Aluminum mold is best for such kind of candles. And if you need to make things easier, then choose a silicone votive mold that makes 6 candles in one go. But the disadvantage of these silicone votive molds is that they are more expensive than aluminum molds, and do not last long. Aluminum molds are less expensive and stay for years to come. If you need molds that need to last for years, then the aluminum is best, but if you are in a hurry and do not mind the expense then the silicon is your choice.

Votive wicks should come with a self tab in the center, so that you can just drop the wick into the mold and pour in the hot wax. The same should be done for silicon molds too. Wick pins are yet another great option to place your wick at the center of the mold as these pins fit perfectly at the bottom of the mold. When your candle is dry and removed from the mold, you can pull out these pins and slide the wick in its place.

The color that you choose for your candles can be either super concentrated or in a liquid form. The specification should be clearly asked to your retailer, because if it is a concentrate then you need only little. But if it's simple color, then you might need to decide on the right amount.

After you have got all your right ingredients, all you need to do is to melt the wax in your microwave and add the required fragrance and color to the wax. Then pour this mixture to the mold and wait it to dry. You candle is ready!

Through it takes only 5 minutes to make your candle, yet duration of 24 hours should be kept apart to cool down your candle. Votive candles are very easy to make and are sure to be the enlightenment of your dcor!
