With the birthday of my daughter coming up, having a cake would have to be mandatory. Kids love them and a celebration would not be complete without one. But instead of buying one that was already finished, I decided to bake one myself as I think my child would be happier with that.

I absolutely had no experience on baking cakes so I bought some books on a local to get some ideas. I got started to making my very first cake. It was a disaster! It didn't taste that bad, but it looked hideous. The icings were falling all over. So I called my best friend who had a lot of experiences baking cakes. I have a lot of pride so I told her not to help me by hand, but just give me some tips. I wanted to bake a cake that I can say that only I made.

After it was finished, I was astounded! It looked so much better than the one I originally made. And it tasted a lot better too!

For my child's birthday, I baked another cake and needless to say the kids loved it. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to bake cakes that not only look like the ones displayed on shops, but tasted like heaven too.
