Abraham Lincoln likely suffered from what we would call clinical depression today, lost several of his children due to illness before his own death by assassination, and suffered through grieving the death of the woman he was to marry and whom many considered to be the love of his life, before he married Mary Todd Lincoln. He also remained stoic during what many contemporaries called a "difficult" marriage to tide, and navigated a Presidency wrought with crises no modern President has ever had to endure, including dealing with the impact of the Civil War and negotiating an end to slavery.

Alessandra's point, though, is that we all have the ability to be a "genius." We simply have to know how to tap into it.
