Dubai is one of those holiday destinations that you have to see to believe

And whilst visiting these amazing sights by foot is a must, there are plenty of other ways to drink in the entire city thanks to the vast amounts of bars, restaurants and hotels offering rooms with a view.

Possibly one of the most famous is the Sky View Bar, an intimate venue that offers one of the best views in town. Ignore the interior, which is often considered a little dated, and head for the windows it doesnt attract thousands of visitors a year for nothing. Beware though, the drinks are extremely expensive and booking is an absolute must. Request a window seat too, to take in the view for the entirety of your meal.

Youll have to travel up 50 floors at Vu to see the view, but it is well worth the trouble. This ear-popping height means you can see the entirety of the Jumeirah beach road, with its glittery lights and sky scrapers, before it fades to black to the Black Sea. You wont want to forget your camera for this view.

One of the best cheap hotels with a view unlike any other is the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dubai Deira Creek. Whilst it offers 16 bars and restaurants, head straight for jazz bar Up On The Tenth, a high-rise cigar bar that overlooks Dubai Creek. Arrive early to grab a window seat and sit back, relax with a champagne cocktail and enjoy the smooth jazz sounds.

The Rooftop Bar at the One and Only Royal Mirage Hotel is a sight in itself. Youll feel like youre in an Arabian fairytale here with lanterns, rose petals, pillows and Persian rugs this is Dubai, old style. Enjoy a shisha or an apple martini (a signature cocktail here) and soak up the starry skies and amazing views of the Palm and Dubai Marina. This is the sort of bar youll feel like anything can happen in.

For a slightly different view only in Dubai book a reservation at Al Mahara, the only underwater hotel in Dubai. Yes you read right, underwater. This is one of the greatest experiences in Dubai as you enjoy an exquisite three-course meal whilst fishes and underwater creatures swim just inches away from your face. Best not order the fish that evening!
