Seeking A Sound Solution For Hair Removal
I can't remember the name of the product
I can't remember the name of the product. But I do remember the late night infomercial making me laugh. I should say making us laugh. I was over at a friend's house last weekend and there was a group of us just hanging out having a good time. Music was playing and the television was on for no good reason.
We weren't really watching it until one my friends yelled out, Oh my gosh, I actually bought that thing. What a waste of money! The product with the name I can't remember was some sort of device that we were supposed to believe easily removed hair from your body by simply rubbing it in a circular motion on any given area of skin.
The infomercial incorporated pretty woman who all very gently rubbed the flat, circular object on their legs, arms, armpits and even upper lips. Painless, easy and quick were a few of the adjectives thrown out by the ad to describe what it was like to use the product to remove unwanted body hair.
Give me a break, replied our friend who would prefer to remain nameless. That thing pulled and tugged at my hair like it was in a fight with it. It's nothing like the commercial. It was overpriced and it underperformed. I can't help but laugh because if I didn't, I'd be screaming in anger!
Sadly, our girlfriend had to play the guinea pig for the rest of us who were all curious as to whether or not this device would be the answer to their shaving, waxing and tweezing prayers. I, of course, knew better than to invest in such a gimmick "" but until the rest of the group heard the story of the useless product, they weren't too sure.
And why do I know better? Let's just say I've written an article or two about
laser hair removal before. Not only is it a technique that will remove unwanted hair permanently, but it helps to avoid the pulling and tugging nature of other hair removal products. Not to mention, it allows you to do away with shaving, waxing and tweezing, so-called remedies that usually produce nicks, bumps and scratches.
On
WebMD.com, it is revealed that next to Botox injections, laser hair removal is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the U.S. I imagine that the numbers are quite similar in Canada. If it were up to my friends, it would probably be number one. Why? Hair removal for women is a daily requirement "" and it doesn't come without its hardships.
To avoid such hardships, laser hair removal is an ideal solution. In my next article, I'll go into further detail as to why the procedure is such a better alternative to the endless practice of shaving, waxing, tweezing...and purchasing crazy hair removal products from late night infomercials!
