Select Your Golf Driver Wisely To Edge Out Your Competitors

Most of the beginners think that in golf, only the accuracy for putting the ball and the capability to play at short distances is what matters

. They ignore the fact that sometimes it is also necessary to drive the ball to longer distances; golf driver is your ideal companion in such situations. It consists of two main parts the shaft and the head.

The head is generally made available in 3 different material types steel, graphite and composite material. The steel drivers are the cheapest amongst the three but are heavier in comparison. The titanium drivers are quite expensive but are lightweight. The drivers with composite material however has a face made out of titanium and the rest of the head made up of lighter materials like carbon.

The golf drivers made of steel have a small contact area due to steels high density and weakness; the drivers that use titanium heads have a larger area because of lesser density. It also increases the soft spot for the club head. Additionally it is quite durable as it resists the wear and tear borne by steel ones.

The fact often neglected by amateur golfers while buying a new driver is the kind of shaft they need. The type of shaft used plays a vital role in the speed of the club head, distance, control and the trajectory of the ball. The choice of the driver can have a significant impact on your performance as it may or may not suit your swing. They have to choose either graphite other steel one. It is a widely accepted fact that graphite shafts are used mostly by high and middle handicappers along with the recreational golfers whereas the good players and low handicappers use steel golf shafts. Although it is not entirely true as the golfers participating in the PGA tours have started using graphite shafts.

The steel shafts are comparatively less expensive in comparison to the graphite ones. Steel golf shafts are more durable in comparison to the graphite ones. However shafts made with good quality graphite are also quite durable and would last as long as they dont get cracked, chipped or the laminate seal doesnt peel off. Also the graphite shafts have an added advantage of generating lesser vibrations in comparison to the steel ones. The graphite golf shafts are lighter in comparison to the steel ones. It also results in a small increase in the swing speed which gets converted into some extra yards on the field.
