Remember when we got our auto oil changed at a gas station or we did it at home

? There were no jiffy lube places where you pull in and pull out a few moments later. Today it seems that the majority of all auto owners pay someone to change their oil in a hurry, even some of those people actually know how to change their own oil themselves.

Why am I talking about oil changes in this article? I'm just using the idea of changing auto oil as an example because most people look how to sell a home in the same way they look at changing their oil, meaning they just want to get it done quickly and easily. When somebody else changes your oil, you have no mess or unpleasant hassle at all. It's easy! Well, you could look at hiring a real estate agent for the same reasons. You just want to sell your home quickly and easily, right?

Oh, how I would love to sell a home quickly, fast as a jiffy auto oil change! Usually it doesn't work out that way, however. Selling your home is a complicated process, all starting with one basic thing. Nothing can happen until you find a buyer. Whether you find that buyer yourself or hire a real estate agent to find you a buyer, there simply cannot be a sale until there is a buyer.

You have access to a lot of people in your daily life who might be interested in buying your home. Did you know that? Think about this for a moment, think about your neighbors and how their friends and family come to visit them quite often. Then think about the businesses in your neighborhood and the people who work at those businesses every day. Those are the people who are very good candidates for buying your home. Those are the people you want to contact, or do whatever is necessary to let them know your home is for sale.


It's easy to forget, whenever we need an oil change or whenever we need to sell a house, "Oh, I don't want to do that job. I'll get somebody else to do it." And that is one of your options, of course. You just decide to pay someone who is in the business of oil changes, or the business of selling homes. But the important thing I personally have to remember when I need to sell my home quickly is the same bottom line truth for you- nobody is more motivated to sell your home than you are.
