In this world there are a lot of people that are selfish in nature
. Our society has taught that everyone to think of themselves first, second and last. Many people are not happy unless thins go their way and their way only. The selfish attitude that exist in our society is particularly prevalent in the younger generation.
However, in all of this, there are a great amount of people that do have a good heart and do a lot of things for others. It is nice to know that there are people in the world that still care for others and will do whatever is needed to make sure that people get the help that they need.

These times can bring out the best in people because there is a common cause that they all have to help each other survive through tough times.

There are a lot of shady people out there that try to take advantage of people's good heart. They are the same, selfish people that were mentioned before. It is best to keep donations to those that are larger and well known. It is still good to get a receipt for your donation and keep all of the information that you can on the companies that you donate to. Do a little research and find out how much of your money actually goes to the cause versus how much goes to running the charity.
Another way to give is to donate your time to a charity. They rely on the volunteers to do as much work as they can so that they can save more and more money to go the cause that it is intended to help. Serving is also one of the best ways to help yourself feel a lot better about life and your own circumstances.
When someone is the beneficiary of service rendered or money from a charity, the feeling is one of great humility and gratitude. It is not easy for these people to accept the help, yet at the same time it is a huge relief.
