Be the Example You Wish Others to Present While Operating a Successful Home Based Business.

Throughout our lives we are encouraged to set an example of honesty, strength, and credibility. If teambuilding is an element of your home based business, the example you display will affect the direction of your team. People will pay closer attention to your actions than your words.

A. Set Clear Expectations

To achieve success in a home based business you must provide clear expectations immediately. Develop an action plan and expect results. No one joins a home based business waiting for direction. Be the example of positive action, and your team members will adopt the same practice.

B. Accessibility and Accountability

If you joined a team focused home based business with the intention of not daily working with people, you chose the wrong business. From the moment you accepted their joining fee, you need to set the example of accessibility. Your team needs your time and input in order to succeed. In return, you can expect accountability. Your team needs to accomplish the action steps you outline for them. With increased accountability comes increased accessibility. Spend most of your time with those focused on their business, and this example will carry through your team.

C. Be Unwavering with Your Behavior

We all get excited, and that's great. Excitement breeds enthusiasm, and enthusiasm leads to action. At all costs you cannot "get down" or allow a difficult day to be portrayed to your team. You need to be an example of encouragement, direction and strength. No one joins a home based business to deal with a temperamental roller coaster. Again, your example will have a ripple effect throughout your team.

Successful home based businesses are based upon effective leadership. Great leaders realize the importance of being an example which others strive to be. Many of these traits are part of their personality, others are developed. Never underestimate the power of your actions, and expect your team in many ways to mirror your example.The better you are, the better your team will be.
