Setup Cable Internet Connection On A Linksys Router

The majority of Cable ISPs (Internet Service Providers) use MAC (Media Access Control) Address authentication to establish Internet connection for their customers. A MAC address is a unique string identifying a network adapter. Therefore, if you have changed you router, then you need to register its MAC address with your ISP or setup your Linksys router to use the old MAC address.

If you Internet connection is working, then connect your modem to the Internet port on your Linksys router. In addition, connect your computer to any Ethernet port of your Linksys router.
