Sexless Marriage Definition - Are You Living in a Sexless Relationship

The topic of sexless marriage is still not widely talked about in the mainstream media. However, there is greater openness to it these days when it used to be a tabboo topic just a few years ago. It is now become a common subject so that there's even a conventional definition of what makes a marriage into a sexless one.

The sexless marriage definition which most people state is that a couple needs to engage in sexual relations for 10 times a year or less for their relationship to qualify as sexless. If you sleep together 11 times in a year, you're not living in a sexless marriage. Congratulations.

I find this definition to be rigid and detached from real life and real people. It seems as if the number 10 was chosen because it's an easy number to work with and not something which has any real merit. The number 11 could just as easy apply. After all, this is a pretty low number which a lot of people would say indicates that there is something amiss in the intimacy in this relationship.

I don't have any issues with making definitions. They help researchers state things in plain language and create statistics with which to work. However, these definitions don't have a lot to do with any particular case. Some people live in sexless marriage even if they sleep together for 15 times a year. It's still not very high. Not what people consider healthy.

If you feel that you live in a sexless marriage, you likely are. It's the personal feeling that counts that most, not what anyone says. Remember, no expert knows how you feel. Only you know what your situation really is.

If youthink that your marriage is lacking in intimacy, you need tothink how it canbe fixed and start taking action. There's no reason to give upon passion. It's something that youdeserve and part of what makes a marriage good.

So, let go of definitions and follow your heart.
