I love waking up in the morning and preparing for the day
. As a male I have developed a ritual that I incorporate each day to keep myself refreshed and invigorated. After spending some time exercising, I like to take a hot shower and then move on to one of the best parts of my day. Using a facial cleanser to prepare my skin for shaving I make certain to wash my face with hot water while I am in the shower to help open the pores and exfoliate my skin. Then using shaving cream I apply a thick layer of rich creamy lather to my still wet face and whiskers and take my time to slowly and gently pull the razor downward across my beard.
I am one of those guys that has to shave every day and by the end of the evening I have a shadow of bristles forming on my face and neck. Because I enjoy shaving, I make sure to give myself plenty of time in the morning to thoroughly clean myself up. As I am preparing for work I like to take the time to relax and give my skin a clean close shave. By slowly moving the razor across the surface of the skin with the grain of my beard I can have the clean close shaving experience that I am looking for. Being careful to avoid the temptation to pull the razor against the grain I am preventing ingrown hairs and irritation of my skin.
For me shaving has become one of the rituals that I look forward to each day. While my wife has her routines for caring for her skin and applying makeup, I have also developed a skincare regimen that is helping me to keep my face clean and smooth. Using a facial cleanser twice a day (once in the morning and again before going to bed) I am able to remove the dirt and oils that have collected from my daily activities. Helping to exfoliate and remove dead skin particles from my face I am then prepared for a healthy serving of shaving cream that lifts the hair and prepares it for the razor. Once I have finished shaving I rinse my face with cold water. After dying with a towel I apply a small amount of moisturizer that is formulated for a man, to help keep my skin hydrated and healthy. While it takes a few minutes to go through my morning ritual of shaving, I have found that I am more alert and feeling refreshed as I go to work.
