Redecorating your kitchen does not have to be an expensive job. There are a few things you can do which will give your kitchen a new look, without you having to spend a lot of money.

The trick is to change a one or two of 'big' things and making little changes to the rest. For example, if the colour on the kitchen walls has started to fade, why not try a new coat of paint. It is often forgotten how much of a difference a new coat of paint can make. Paint doesn't have to be expensive, with many DIY stores selling their own brand, you might be surprised at how little it costs to give your kitchen walls a new look.

If you are feeling adventurous and your kitchen has wooden cabinets why not paint your cabinets too, which will contribute greatly to your kitchens new look. If your cabinets are high quality wood, you may want to avoid painting them completely and could just refinish them instead. Refreshing the wood by adding a new coat of varnish can give really give a fresher appearance.

For your 'big' job why not replace your worktops, as you would have saved money by painting the walls and varnishing your cabinets. Worktops are available in a range of materials including wood, stone and quartz. If you want your kitchen to be at the height of fashion then opt for one of the various granite worktops. Soften the look of your kitchen with fabric. You don't need to spend a lot of money on expensive curtains or blinds. Instead, choose a simple window covering which is inexpensive, but a stylish replacement for what was there before.
