Shimla Facilitates Many Trekking Adventure

For trekkers there are several prospects for short and long treks from Shimla. Chharabra at an altitude of 2,953m and is just about 13km away while Naldhera at the height of 2,044m is approximately 23km from Shimla. From Narkanda which is nearly 66 km away from Shimla, you would experience a great trek to Hattu Peak. The route from Narkanda moves down to the Sutlej Valley and enters Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur.

Jalori Pass Trek

An additional trek which is extremely beautiful is just beyond Narkanda and go northwest over the Jalori Pass present in the Seraj area. You can begin from the Ani village which is accessible by bus or jeep from Luhri in the Sutlej Valley below Narkanda and trek into the lesser part of the Kullu Valley, connecting the Kullu-Manali road at Aut. You can commute in a jeep on this route.

Bashleo Pass

On the other hand you can advance to Rampur which is some 66km from Narkanda and then ramble into the Kullu Valley by means of the Bashleo Pass which is 3,610 m. There are several forest guest houses on the way so a tent is not requisite except if you are keen to camp out under the stars. Both treks get over at Banjar in Tirthan Valley from where you can take a bus to Kullu.
