Shoe covers have had a wide use in many industries and have been an essential part of most industries where they have been introduced. To continue with the next part on the industries where a shoe cover is a very integral part of everyday operations I have researched more industries and how they use them.
In the Police force apart from many departments forensics are the ones requiring shoe covers in doing their job either on the crime scene or in the lab. This is to protect and keep in tact the crime scene and also to exclude any human mistakes when dealing with evidence. Of course this for evidence being taken out or brought in the lab. Also by using them to protect the forensic working inside the lab and on the scene.
They are also widely used in the catering industries and all kitchens. They minimise the chance of food being taken out and around a working place. Also they protect the food handlers from any food chemicals dropping on their feet. These form of overshoes are made from materials such as latex to prevent permeation, which can weaken the shoe leading it to disintegrate.
Another industry where a shoe cover is crucial is the cleaning industry. Almost all jobs performed include wearing the shoe cover in order to perform according to all safety standards. The cleaning industry has evolved over the decades into a integral part of every business. Therefore its standards have increased and one raising bar has been the use of shoe covers.
An extremely interesting industry using them is the Veterinary Services Industry. When dealing with animals you must have all precautions in place to prevent spreading of bacteria and in turn prevent spreading diseases. All vets practice wearing a shoe cover and practice a safe environment for all involved. They have a very practical use in Gardening. Firstly of course not to get one's feet with dirt on them and secondly and most important to protect yourself from insects that breed in the ground.
As you can see shoe covers have a wide and colourful industry use. They are used from the basic foot protection to protecting evidence in many complicated court cases of which some are even of national importance. Hopefully I have made people more aware of something that's around us yet it's so simple people barely notice it.
